is it 3am yet?!

I'M IN SOME SERIOUS PAIN!!!  How annoying.  :(  the worst part, I can't take any more pain medicine until 3am!!  :(  I don't know what else to do to help deal w/ the pains.  I am dealing w/ some "issues" and I'm stuck in a 'catch 22'.

What I can be grateful for is that it's not as bad as it was between the hours of 5:30pm - 9pm (oh, boy I thought something inside was going to explode! :(  and I'm concerned that something really did burst!  :(  )  I have no idea what's going on inside of me and i won't see the doc again until Feb.  I really think I should schedule something sooner...

So, I doubled up on my pain medicine and I felt well enough, after about 2 hrs, to clean the master toilet and tub.   -but I'm still soooo uncomfortable; the pain is only about 2/3 gone... :(

This weekend, we did some shopping for our bedroom!  I can't wait until it's all finished.  We plan on staying here after all.  We really have no idea what's going on w/ Chris's job.  A lot of changes are taking place and going to take place through out this year.  So, it's best if we stay put, get Kryssa in school (yikes!), work on paying off debt, and finally turn the upstairs of our house into a "home".  :)  We will finally paint (we purchased paint last March, or so, but didn't do any more painting to the upstairs bcause we had planned on moving).  So, we bought curtains, curtain rods, faux wood blinds (bcause the cats ruined one of our window's 'mini blinds' -grrrrr- so, we bought nicer and better ones), a new ceiling fan, a mattress topper (a pillow top of gel and down!!! it's AMAZING!!!!), and a few things for our bathroom.  Ooooo, I'm so excited to have it all finished and FINALLY have a 'retreat' for me and my wonderful, hard working,  hubby . . . we deserve it!  We do.  **a BIG plus for our window stuff is that it helps keep all the morning light out AND also the evening heat!! :D

Chris, finished some projects for tonight -so, we are ready to snuggle in our super duper comfy bed now (and watch some telly).  Enjoy your night (or day, or evening...) and hopefully I'll be able to get some well needed rest for my body.  I sure wish it was 3am already --these meds aren't strong enough sometimes (like for tonight).

'till next time.

first days are rough

Hi :) Hope you have had a positive and eventful day.

Today, as I have mentioned, was my first day back to work after a 6 week 'leave of absence'. It was nice to be back. So many changes have taken place and I have some serious catching up to do, I'm sure. The kids didn't all seem to be so glad that I was back . . .haha. I think they thought I wasn't coming back bcause I heard a lot of "I thought you weren't coming back". I'm not too sure if they meant it nicely, as in they were happy I didn't leave for good, or as in I was really hoping that you would stay gone. lol And I mentioned to my boss that hopefully they were just on the sluggish "I'm not happy that my holiday break is over and I'm back at school now..." They did, as a whole, act a lot better than what I remember from right before I left. And then there were the ones . . . more like three... that were smarty pants and didn't want to do the assignment. They tried to weasel their way out of it but I worked my "mishelly-ness" and they all ended up participating!! lol Today's project was for Science and we had to make a little skeleton out of pipe cleaners -haha. The end result was nothing like what the diagram showed; there was glue EVERYWHERE!!! lol

Outside time was super cold for me, seeing how I just stood there. No one really wanted me to jump in their games. :( ha ha eh, it's only my first day back; I might be a little rusty . . .

I think the toughest part of my work day was not being able to rest my crazy achy joints and body. I don't think I have stood for 4.5 hrs since the last time I worked! :/ So, I opted out of yoga today. I figured I wouldn't over do and traumatize my body. So, I slowly get back into our "routine". One step at a time . . . work first. Well, Kryssa first, then work, then the gym I guess. *the great part of today is that it wasn't bad at all. it wasn't dreadful. It was nice, great and very 'normal' feeling. :) When we were at the table, eating dinner, I told Chris that by that point it didn't even feel like I had worked. I was tired and all -but after sitting for dinner I felt just as tired as a normal day I guess --maybe a bit more tired than that . . . but not like I thought 'the first day back' would feel like.

Oh, and I did want to ask your opinion on something: When does our "want to buy something for Kryssa" turn into spoiling?! I mean, we try not to spoil her but just today she received two "surprises", one from each of us, and she did not act all that well while we were at work . . . :( I went to rent from RedBox (well, return and then thought to rent and look at their $7 buy deals) and just couldn't resist purchasing King Fu Panda for seven dollars!! We have been wanting to purchase that for her since it came out but I haven't gotten myself to pay full price for it -so when I saw it available for only $7 dollars, I was so excited and I bought it. :D :/ THEN . . . I talked to Chris when I was on my way back home and he tells me that he has the best surprise for kryssa . . .He purchased yet another care bear for Kryssa!! My goodness! We love helping her collect one of each of the available care bears. But the timing created an overload of "gifts" . . . for a four year old that didn't have a SUPER DAY. :( We were so excited to give what we bought -so, I know we should have waited -but does that really 'create' a SPOILED child?! :(

Pls, share your opinions. We have really been thinking this out lately. I do know, though, that everyone has 'their own opinion' of "spoiled" --So, some of you may think that we have waaaay over spoiled Kryssa for the longest time now and some of you may think that I am just over thinking things and over reacting and Kryssa is not spoiled . . .

haha . . . I can handle your opinion, pls share.

:)

happy night to you.

should definitely be sleeping right now

So, I know I really really should be sleeping right now. my love is snoozing away right here besides me. We started a movie up here which is always a bad idea bcause it is soooo rare when I don't finish a movie. So, I should have known better -i start a movie, I know I'll most likely finish it. We started it at 12:30am or so (plus I started updating my website --any sleep I did have went out the window when I started editing photos and checking details on posts...)!!! Oh, what a not so good idea. Chris on the other hand has no issue w/ falling asleep and not seeing the end of a movie --most of you already know his sleep habits!! ha ha *any time, any place, any where!! lol

So, my mind is racing right about now how I should be sleeping and how I'm more than likely going to kick myself in the rear for not just staring into the darkness until I drift away to lala land. But I think I'm just overwhelmed that work starts again tomorrow. I mean, I don't think I even blogged this -cause I was trapped in a non-blogging cage for a while-, but I've been on leave from work for about . . . 6 wks now? Something like that. So, my mind is freaking out right about now!! lol I mean, it's not like it's 'new' or anything. I've missed the kids . . . really -and so has Kryssa. She's ecstatic about going back tomorrow. I have been telling her that we go back on Jan. 6th and tonight, sharing our love and cuddles before bedtime, I told her, "Kryssa, guess what. Tomorrow we go back to the boys and girls club!" Kryssa's eyes lit up and she took an excited gasp of air in and said "yay! tomorrow's January 6th? . . . Daddy, guess what!" hee hee it was cute. So we are both excited to get back on our routine, I guess. *debbie downer trumpet tune* I am, however, super excited to get back to the gym!! Tomorrow is yoga and we are all thrilled (yes, even Chris is going to continue to join me in my classes. Although I did let him know that there are a few of 'his' that I still shouldn't participate in. :( He does understand though!)

So, good news: life will go back to the "normal" that we knew. Not so good news: my mind has been set to "freedom" and full time stay at home mommy mode for so long . . . it's a bit tougher than I thought it would be to get back into 'work mode'. i can do it! I know I can. I will enjoy it too, I'm sure! :D I just wish that in those six weeks I could have replaced my rusty body for a new one. ha ha ("oil can") I don't know that much has "improved". Pains aren't every day anymore. Although, this past week they have been here more than the previous two. Who knows why. I'm really considering taking my doc up on her offer to get a second opinion (even my parents say I should) w/ another doctor. The new meds that I started back in nov. have really shown some improvements for me in so many diff. ways!! that's probably the best health news of the past 6 weeks. Unfortunately it has been in my system long enough for the side effects to really be noticeable . . . I have "grandma-creeky-knees" -along w/ all my other bones and joints. :( I know it's the meds because that was one of the main things my doc let me in on b4 I started the meds. But it's a crazy "catch 22"; if I stop the meds too many more issues will return and then I'm back where I started 6 weeks ago -never a good thing. I've been telling Chris that medical science really needs to come up w/ some kind of concoction that fits each individual's needs perfectly. -you know, a little of this, a little of that . . . taking a med. causes new symptoms that sometimes are unbearable so just the right mixture of everything I need in one dose a day would be perfect...ha! I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way!! When I take med. "A", it causes me to need meds "B" and "C". If I stop med. "A", then my body feels as if it needs meds "A-Z"!! eh. but don't get me wrong, I'm coming along and I have learned to be so ever grateful for the health that I DO have. Praise God for that.

So, tomorrow, I'm really going to need to get great use out of my Kuerig brewer (my christmas gift from Chris. it's the absolute best brewer!! It brews two diff. cup sizes of coffee, tea, and/or hot cocoa!! Also, it holds something like 48oz of water -so I don't have to clean anything out or fill it up like I did w/ a reg. coffee pot! -enough about that!) I'll brew me some coffee in the morn and maybe some for the road trip out to Boerne . . . mmmmm, coffee!

Well, I'm still not sleepy but my body is burning of pain . . . I should def. lay down and rest my body, if anything. I'm sure I'll fall asleep after my body starts to relax.

Jessica, see you tomorrow "bright eyed and bushy tailed" (is that the saying?! LOL)

Bring on the work and gym schedule!! Bring it! I'm ready! (and pretty excited)

:D

Good night to some and Good morning to others.

'til next time...

January 5, 2009

it's been a while, huh?

Well, I wanted to blog about our weekend. I am going to do my best to keep it short; Chris is reading Kyrssa her bed time story and I want to be done by the time he's done. We plan on poppin' some corn and watching a movie...

So, the holidays were great: Our newest niece arrived, we had jolly times visiting w/ family and exchanging gifts . . . it's always great to buy something someone has really been wanting and then watching them open it up! I know, I know, Christmas is NOT about material things --but we give gifts because we LOVE to!!

SO! We visiting w/ my sis, niece, "JoJo" (I'm thinking that might be our nickname for her), and our bro-in-law on Saturday and we had such a wonderful time. I can't believe how tiny babies can be. lol Kryssa was a very tiny baby but it so sad how I have almost forgotten already...*sigh*. :) I am loving every little moment I get to experience with her. :D

OH! Friday night was a moment in history . . . maybe not when you read it but it was hilarious in it's own way and a wonderful "aw" moment for me -I think I will remember for a long long time: My mom came over for her lime coconut cream cupcakes she had asked me to make for her ( I got a new cupcake recipe book back in November or early December -so I've been on a roll to try out new recipes) --well, I didn't like the cupcakes, Chris did but doesn't care for cream cheese frosting so they were "eh" for him ("ugh" for me, lol") --but for the one person that mattered the most, the 'requester', she LOVED them!! She LOVES coconut in every way fashion and form!! ha ha I, on the other hand, haven't liked any of the coconut recipes I have made; I'm not a fan of coconut so, enough said, I guess. Anyway, she came for the cupcakes and when she was leaving Kryssa asked if she could go stay the weekend w/ Grandma. I was surprised because she had been asking, since Christmas, if we could go see baby josephine again. So, after going over all the details about not being able to see the baby if she stays in SA w/ grandma and grandpa, she ended deciding to stay in SA and have fun w/ grandma. So, Chris and I ended up having a "free night" of just us --a spontaneous outing?! What? for us?! haha so we went to mama margies for dollar margaritas and dollar chicken fajita tacos!! mmmm! And then we planned on going to the movies --a late movie, whoohoo!! ha ha ;)

Well, we were finishing up when we got a call from my mom on Chris's cell phone -which always means that they need to speak w/ one of us right away (bcause mine stays in my purse, which we can't always hear, and Chris's is on his hip, which we always get the calls -for the most part). Well, it turned out that Kryssa was asking to come back home because she was sad and saying "I miss my mommy". That has never happened. . . so that's my "aw moment" we were bummed bcause it was 11pm and we had to drive 30 mins to get her and then 30 mins back and not get to see the movie or get a quiet night's rest -haha . .. but we lovingly went and picked up our daughter. the funny part about the night is I had been telling Chris, "it's weird hun, I miss Kryssa. I kind of wish she wasn't at grandma's tonight; although I would LOVE a night of just the two of us . . ." and then she apparently felt the same.

So, there went our spontaneous outing and night "off" lol!

Today, Chris set up the surround sound to the tv. we had unplugged everything when we brought our tv up stairs and then when he took it back down, we just never bothered to hook it up. now that it's hooked up, we had forgotten how awesome it all sounds!!! So, we have some movies for tonight! ha ha yay! :D

The "funny-ness" that I really wanted to blog about was my alllll day of baking today! ha ha I guess it realy wasn't all day. it just feels like I was in the kitchen all day. I had this deeeep desire to try a new recipe today. no one wanted anything specific so I thumbed through my newest stuff and found a "celebration chocolate" recipe for minis. Well, it was a celebration when I was done cause they were super easy and looked cute and great. I changed up the frosting a bit, to my liking and then I took a bite . . . .lol. my 24 minis ended up going in the trash!!! LOL I know that it's a given, as a baker, that 'trying' new recipes and ideas won't always be a hit --but I had no idea how these tasted so off. lol it called for vinegar, which I have NEVER had anything call for vinegar!! So that was the first eyebrow raise for me --then I used unsweetened cocoa and I realized later that I probably should have used sweetened?! haha my mom tasted it and said they were good but something was different. Chris tasted one and said it was "different". lol when I tasted it, I just threw it away!!! lol then I had chris by me more of some ingredients I used up so I could try another. Chris, before he left, set out, his favorite, funfetti cake mix and a container of cream cheese icing. I was a little insulted bcause here I am, looking to bake a new recipe and he just wants me to bake a box instead?! uh! haha. then I realized "screw a new recipe! let's try out my new cupcake baking pan . . ."!! It makes a HUGE cake-size cupcake!!! how awesome is that?! we absolutely loved it!!! I didn't eat any of the cake . . . I'm not a fan of funfetti and Pillsbury cream cheese icing . . . :( But I had so much fun putting the extra extra large cupcake together and decorating it like a cupcake!! :D I took pics and I'll b sure to post some. Chris was super happy when he got home --when he saw his gigantic funfetti and cream cheese cupcake waiting on the counter . . .

so, more adventures of funky recipes, I'm sure, will come along. Some recipes just aren't for Yum-Yummies . . . I'm sure there is someone, or several someones, that care for that strange bitter "different" chocolate flavoring --just not us. So, we've tossed that one and we're still looking for the best . . .

Happy Sunday and soon to be Monday for you.
I'm headed downstairs b4 chris calls it a night bcause I'm up here blogging too long!! ha ha

tootles!
